Nurse Practitioner Joins West Salem Rural Health Clinic
January 21, 2019
Carle Richland Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce the addition of Family Nurse Practitioner, Brandi Alvord, to the West Salem Rural Health Clinic. Brandi has been an NP for nearly two years, and is looking forward to beginning her practice in West Salem.
“I was a nurse for several years working in various areas, from post-surgical, to emergency to obstetrics. I really enjoyed taking care of patients and decided that I wanted to be more involved with the patient’s care. That was when I decided to go back to school to earn my Family Nurse Practitioner certification,” says Brandi.
Brandi graduated summa cum laude from Chamberlain College of Nursing in 2017 with her Master of Science, Family Nurse Practitioner. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Brandi is able to care for patients of all ages. She is looking forward to meeting her patients in the West Salem area and forming a therapeutic relationship with them.
“Having good communication with my patients is very important to me. I feel if patients are comfortable with me, they will be more open and honest about their needs. I always want my patients to know and understand their plan of care so they can have the best outcomes possible,” notes Brandi.
She is excited to not only bring her services to a rural area, but she is also excited to be a part of Carle Richland Memorial Hospital again.
“Everyone is so pleasant, warm and welcoming, and above all, really cares about the patients. I am glad to be a part of an organization that puts patient care first,” says Brandi.
